0% Energy Efficient Additional Borrowing

If you’re an existing Progressive mortgage customer and you’re making home improvements which will reduce the carbon energy used, our 0% energy efficient additional borrowing may be suitable for you.

Designed to help homeowners lower their carbon footprint and their energy bills by making non-structural green improvements, you may be able to borrow between £3,000 - £15,000 to make home improvements such as installing home insulation, solar panels or boiler upgrades.

To qualify for our 0% energy efficient additional borrowing product, the following criteria will apply:

  • The property must be your main residential property and located in Northern Ireland.
  • This product is only available on borrowing between £3k and £15k.
  • The total borrowing must be used to improve the energy efficiency of your home by carrying out at least one acceptable improvement. A full list of accepted works can be provided.
  • You must provide quotations for your proposed improvements. 
  • This product does not have an early repayment charge and the 0% rate applies to the additional borrowing amount only.
  • Only one application for 0% Energy Efficient Additional Borrowing up to £15,000 is permitted during the life of the mortgage and only if this product is available.  This product can be withdrawn at anytime.

Based on a start date of 10/06/2024, a mortgage of £15,000.00 payable over 19 years, initially on our 0.00% fixed rate until 09/06/2029, followed by our Standard Variable Rate currently 8.74% for the remaining 17 years, would require 60 monthly payments of £66.89 and 204 monthly payments of £128.65.The total amount payable would be £27,849.96 made up of the loan amount plus interest of £12,599.96 and an Arrangement Fee of £250.The overall cost for comparison is 7.07% APRC.
